Sylacauga, Talladega County
On November 30, 1954, an 8 1/2-pound meteorite crashed through the roof of a Sylacauga home, hitting Mrs. Ann
Hodges, who was napping on her sofa. This was the first recorded injury of a human struck by a falling meteorite.
